Akubra was founded in 1876, proudly manufacturing Country and Outback style hats from Rabbit Fur felt. There is 162 individual steps in producing each iconic hat and each hat is processed 200 times by 60 employees and takes a whopping 6 weeks from the felting process through to completion. Once felted, these hats are 100% weather proof and if handled correctly can last over 20 years!
